Join us for a beer and music celebration throughout Harmony! We wanted to take our own SPIN on Record Store Day by having an all-day party at three of your favorite locations in town.

Start the day at the ShuBrew Brewery with a hazy IPA can release (label designed by Bottlebrush’s own Laura Stuart!)  followed by live music from Walker and the Rebellion! ShuBrew & North Country will also be debuting our collaboration beer “Beer Mugz-N-Harmony (draft only)!” Local food truck Pita My Shawarma will be in attendance serving some great food.

Follow up the action at The Harmony Inn with a crawfish boil on the patio and live music from Alex Kates & Amanda Barton.  Jim and Debbie Tobin will hold their monthly Open Stage at the Bottlebrush starting at 1pm.

Finally end the night at Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts and Last Dog Records for a live music CD release party featuring Dennis McCurdy and special guests The Carpenter Ants. Enjoy local beer at the gallery, check out the vinyl art show, and try some food from our friends Pgh Po’boy!

Vinyl record fans – Last Dog Records will be open all day from 11am-9pm with new and vintage vinyl available. Bring your dog and get 10% off record purchase to celebrate National Record Store Day.

About The Ploughshare Poets:
Ryan Stauffer and Vade King are The Ploughshare Poets, a popular duo known for their outstanding music, strong harmonies, clever banter, raucous singalongs, and impromptu parades through the streets of Harmony. Far from being a kitschy pub band, they are masters of the history and cultural importance of Scottish and Irish music. Expert musicians, the Poets play bagpipes, guitar, whistles, drums, and the bouzouki.

Ryan has played bagpipes for 20 years and makes his own small pipes. Vade played extensively in England and Scotland and was the lead singer of “Colin’s Way” for 10 years.

Oct 12: Todd Burge (WV) with special guest Bruce Hoffman (Pittsburgh)

Posted on 05 October 2018 (0)

West Virginia loans us Todd Burge! Over the years, Todd has become a good friend and kind soul who loves to come here and play.  He has dedicated his life to song writing and music promotion. Todd’s songs are honest, sometimes abstract, poignant, and often funny. His guitar playing and harmonica accompaniment are superb. www.toddburge.com

Pittsburgh’s Bruce Hoffman will open for Todd. Bruce is well known in the area for his craftily written songs that either make you think or laugh or do both. He is the songwriter that John Prine comes to town to see.

June 9: Rachel Brown

Posted on 09 June 2018 (0)

In collaboration with The Harmony Inn, we’re hosting the talented Rachel Brown, playing solo on the Inn patio (inside in case of rain) from 1pm-4pm June 9.  Rachel’s a professional musician and music educator who also plays with her band the Beatnik Playboys. Concert today is sponsored by the Bottlebrush Gallery and The Harmony Inn, but FREE to you.

About Rachel Brown:

Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys are a delicious musical anachronism – Americana music of today that seems like it could have come from a time when milk came in glass bottles and doctors still made house calls. Powered by singer-songwriter Brown’s multi-octave voice, fed by guitarist Dave Huddleston’s tasty licks and harmonies, decorated by the smooth grooves of string bassist Bill Watson and drummer Roy King, the band journeys through the musical landscape of country, jazz, blues and gospel on a trip you want to take over and over.
