Collaboration is the way to go with small businesses, and we’re doing just that with Zelienople’s ShuBrew! They have a cool new art wall, and we’re co-sponsoring a monthly art show for you to show off your talent. You can sell your work or just show it. March’s theme is Lucky Charms, and all work is due to the Bottlebrush Gallery in Harmony by 4pm Sunday, 3/3. There’s an opening reception for all artists, friends and the public on Tuesday, 3/5, from 7-9pm at ShuBrew. Stop in to see the new show and have a brewski. We’d love to see you. Our Women’s Creative Circle met February 15 to learn the basics of watercolor painting from Pittsburgh artist Beth Slagle. Beth will be offering a full-length watercolor basics class three evenings in March. Watch this space for more information!

Our Women’s Creative Circle is back for 2024! February’s group learned basic watercolor painting, taught by Pittsburgh artist Beth Slagle. All women ages 13 and older are welcome to join this monthly class, no artistic talent needed– our teaching artists are experienced and can teach at beginner or advanced levels.

Zelienople’s ShuBrew has a new art wall! In the spirit of collaboration, every month we’re promoting a new Call for Art, and February’s is Ain’t Love Strange. Well, ain’t it? All artists 13 and older are invited to submit artwork for this show. No digital or 3d art, please, although fiber arts are ok. No entry fee. See flyer below for more information. Halloween in Harmony!

A night of Spooky Fun starting off at the haunted Center of Harmony at 4pm, with Haunted Legends, True Crime & Gallery Readings by the internationally known Psychic Vincent Sisters as seen on A&E, Dateline,Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, SyFy. The Bottlebrush Gallery will host our Haunted Harmony show…. a spooky art show by candlelight, featuring artists Sally Rung and Dan Senneway. You must see this show, soooo cool.

The Harmony Inn will be in full Halloween party mode all day. Limited menu from 11am-6pm, Buffet 6-9pm, Pet Costume Contest at 2pm, Kids Costume Contest at 3pm, then the adult fun starts with Scary-oke, Adult Costume Contest and more. The Harmony Inn is well-known for paranormal activity.

“Ghoulish Glimpse,” Union Brothers’ party starts in the evening at their new, soon to be opened location. Costume contests, a glimpse of their new facility and more scary fun to be had.

Adult Trick or Treat at participating businesses, need we say more? In costume, please! Our retail businesses will be decked out for Halloween and in party mode, including the haunted Weavers’ Cabin. Come out and play!

Stu Chandler uses photography for more than capturing just a pretty picture. He creates images with a sense of place, interest, moment, drama, and beauty. In his  words, “I embrace the freedom to shape an image to realize the full potential of a scene, with no apologies.”

About the Artist:

Photographer, educator, engineer, and traveler Stu Chandler has carried a camera for over 50 years, mostly during his career as an electrical engineer. Until recently, he developed training centers and conferences throughout North and South America. Recently retired, he has turned his attention to photography fulltime.
