June 9: Rachel Brown
In collaboration with The Harmony Inn, we’re hosting the talented Rachel Brown, playing solo on the Inn patio (inside in case of rain) from 1pm-4pm June 9. Rachel’s a professional musician and music educator who also plays with her band the Beatnik Playboys. Concert today is sponsored by the Bottlebrush Gallery and The Harmony Inn, but FREE to you.
About Rachel Brown:
Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys are a delicious musical anachronism – Americana music of today that seems like it could have come from a time when milk came in glass bottles and doctors still made house calls. Powered by singer-songwriter Brown’s multi-octave voice, fed by guitarist Dave Huddleston’s tasty licks and harmonies, decorated by the smooth grooves of string bassist Bill Watson and drummer Roy King, the band journeys through the musical landscape of country, jazz, blues and gospel on a trip you want to take over and over.
June 9: Music, art show, plant fair and more!
BUSY SATURDAY in Harmony, come see us! Starting with the annual Herb & Garden Fair & Plant Exchange and the HBA’s FleaTique on the Square, then music– Jim and Debbie Tobin hosting their monthly Open Stage at the Gallery, and Rachel Brown playing at The Harmony Inn, both 1-4pm. The Gallery’s art show “Time for Me: A Women’s Creative Circle” opens this weekend. The day ends with our Annual Summer Wine Walk, from 5-9pm, with Jim and Debbie Tobin playing at Wunderbar. Extended Gallery hours are from 10am-9pm. We have something for everyone.
Fundraiser – Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
Not only does the Gallery support local and new/emerging artists, we also participate in fundraisers in collaboration with other businesses. Memorial Day Sunday, MJ McCurdy led a painting class at the Indian Brave Campground to support their charity, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Thanks to Laura Ebbert for her hard work and for inviting us.
