From Charleston, West Virginia, Blue Yonder is a band that takes strands of early country music – swing, honky-tonk, bluegrass and rockabillly – and weaves them together with award-winning original compositions and a contemporary feel.
Blue Yonder features three seasoned musicians, each with distinctive and notable skills: singer and songwriter John Lilly, national guitar champion Robert Shafer, and bassist Will Carter. The band’s debut recording “Bittersweet Road” featuring all original songs reached #2 on the Freeform American Roots Radio charts in late 2013. http://www.blueyonderhonkytonk.com

Oct 6-20: Book-Not-Book International Collaboration Exhibit
We are proud to host two exhibits this October. The first is “Book-Not-Book,” an exhibition of unique and handmade books created by students in the Fiber Art Studios at Slippery Rock University and Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. The collaboration between these studios has spanned 4 years, initiated by Barbara Westman, Associate Professor of Art at SRU. Every year, students from both schools work on the same assignment and, later, both collections of artworks are presented in an exhibition in Poland and in the US. It is a unique opportunity for the students involved and for the community to see how the same assignment can be interpreted by students from different countries and cultures. The exhibit will be on display from October 6-October 20. There is no admission charge.
